Scope and Contents
This series includes files, photographs, and drawings from Vignolo’s projects at his own firm, as well as a few from his time at Lawrence Halprin & Associates. Ranging from single-family residential to embassies and shopping centers, Vignolo worked with many notable architecture firms including Esherick Homsey Dodge & Davis, Wurster Bernardi & Emmon, Skidmore Owings and Merrill, Marquis Associates, and Wisznia & Peterson. Projects in this series include Dallas’s Belo Park; Carmel Plaza Shopping Center; Tacoma’s Weyerhaeuser Headquarters’ Executive Roof Garden; Domaine Clos Pegase Winery in Calistoga, CA, the Crawford Residence in San Rafael; some exhibits at the San Francisco Zoo; Nicollett Mall in Minneapolis; the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; a couple of personal family projects; and many others. In addition to the standard project paperwork, this series also includes friendly correspondence with professional collaborators and clients such as Edward Charles Bassett and his wife in regards to their residence and in regards to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and William Orenstein from the Northridge Lakes project regarding Vignolo’s departure from Halprin’s office.
