Scope and Contents

From the Series:

Images of Maybeck projects are related to teaching materials and the book Cardwell wrote in 1977 Bernard Maybeck: Artisan, Architect, Artist. These images are photographs, negatives, positives, and glass slides taken by Cardwell or are from archival collections. The sounds recordings are magnetic tape reels recorded in 1953 in an interview done by Bernard Maybeck and Robert Schutz titled, “Men and Issues.” They are not currently accessible due to format. The drawings of Maybeck homes done by Cardwell are held in SERIES V, Historical Preservation Records.

Collection is open for research. Many of the Environmental Design Archives collections are stored offsite and advance notice is required for use.
