Box 4, Flat Files, Tubes
A. Files
Contains a significant amount of correspondence with Julian Messick, the artist who created models of the project for Morgan. Includes sketches and notes which Morgan made of the scattered architectural elements (vaults, ribs, capitals, cornices, etc) of the Medieval Museum in Golden Gate Park after a fire in 1941 destroyed the crates in which they were stored.
B. Photographs
Includes photographs of sculptures purchased for La Cuesta Encantada and an exterior. Also contains photographs of the architectural elements for the Medieval Museum, and photographs of drawings of Phoebe Hearst Memorial Gymnasium.
C. Drawings
Comprised of drawings for the Phoebe Hearst Memorial Gymnasium at the University of California, Berkeley, La Cuesta Encantada (Hearst Castle) at San Simeon, the Wyntoon estate in Siskiyou County, and residences in Santa Monica and Sausalito.
