Scope and Contents
The Winfield Scott Wellington collection consists of project photographs and drawings, spanning the years 1930-1971. The majority of the drawings and photographs reflect Wellington’s interest in residential design. The collection also includes drawings relating to exhibit designs for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, and Wellington’s involvement at UC Berkeley, including student projects from a Decorative Arts course.

The James D. Wickenden collection consists of student work and other drawings. Coursework includes drawing exercises from high school and from a Stereotomy course (Architecture 107) at UC Berkeley. Project drawings are primarily residential, and include the Gilman house in Carmel (1937), the Campbell house in Palo Alto (1932), the Hinman house in Lake Tahoe (N.D.), and the Dowsett house (1929, location unknown). Abstract
The Joseph Worcester collection consists of 14 bound volumes of scrapbooks containing purchased photographs, clippings from the Architectural Review, and other magazines. Some volumes contain photographs of Italian artwork, including one volume of Venice. Two of the volumes are architectural monographs of the Ames Memorial Buildings in North Easton, Massachusetts, and Trinity Church in Boston.

Abstract
The records of William and Catherine Wurster span the years 1914 to 1979. The majority of the collection contains Personal Papers of the couple, particularly their photos and slides from various trips abroad, starting with William’s 1922 trip to Europe and ending with the couple’s world tours in 1957 and 1959. Accompanying these photographs are written descriptions of the trips, including William’s travel journals and their joint notes and publications regarding their experiences.

Drawings, which form the bulk of the collection, largely relate to residential work, although some commercial and apartment buildings, including Normandy Village, are also included. The collection also includes an attendance book and other materials from a technical drawing class that Yelland taught at night for adults through the Oakland Public Schools in 1933.
